I want to sell DISH Network?-related equipment. Do you have any tips?
Do not list non-functional DISH Network ? equipment (receivers and smartcards *i.e.-our "blue" smartcards no longer have a legitimate use with our system) or DISH Network equipment with an outstanding balance. Selling this type of equipment serves no legitimate purpose. *Please note, in an effort to protect our Conditional Access System, DISH Network does not authorize anyone to repair our equipment. Sellers need to list the receiver number and/or smartcard number in the auction.
Effective Immediately , DISH Network smartcard only auctions are not allowed. Please note the back of card as being property of Echostar Communications Corporations.
Do not list prohibited or restricted devices such as ?unloopers? or ?programmers?. These devices are used to gain unauthorized access to DISH Network? programming by various illegal means. DISH Network? software and our Conditional Access System are protected by various state and federal laws. Circumventing or attempting to circumvent our technology violates both our rights and the law.

Why was my auction cancelled?
Generally auctions are cancelled for one of the following reasons:
1. DISH Network? has determined that the device or equipment offered is intended for use in satellite television piracy and/or violates the law.
2. The sale would misrepresent DISH Network??s product or goodwill.
Why was my auction cancelled when others like it have not?
We partner with eBay and others to monitor eBay auctions that may infringe on our rights. We take action and report improper auctions to eBay. Some transactions may not be caught and cancelled immediately. Please do not e-mail or call to inform us of auctions that are still active.
Can I list otherwise prohibited or restricted devices if I add a disclaimer such as ?for testing,? ?for educational purposes,? or ?for legal use only??
No. Adding disclaimers does not change the nature of the devices being sold or their infringement on various Intellectual Property Laws protecting our brand, our customers and our equipment.
We do not, under any circumstances, authorize anyone to ?test? our Conditional Access System. Do not list any device(s) or information that assists in accessing our Conditional Access System.
Accessing DISH Network? programming without proper authorization is signal theft. DISH Network? vigorously pursues those who use or facilitate the use of our equipment or signal without proper authorization.
Is there any information I should leave out of my item description?
There is no legitimate purpose to include certain types of information in your description, such as the smartcard version (the only way you may identify the smartcard with the S00 number on the back), its status as locked/unlocked, looped/unlooped, or open/closed, or whether the receiver has a JTAG slot. This information only assists individuals those who would attempt to steal programming.

If I win a receiver auction, will DISH Network? add it to my existing account?
It depends. DISH Network? will not activate equipment if a balance remains due for prior services or use. You may check with DISH Network? to verify that the receiver and/or smartcard has no balance due by calling 1-800-333-DISH (3474) and following the prompts. Sellers need to list the receiver number and/or smartcard number in the auction; buyers will be required to satisfy any such balance before a receiver will be activated to receive programming, whether or not the seller discloses the balance.
Will DISH Network? honor any warranties for equipment sold on eBay?
No, because we do not inspect the equipment being offered, we provide no warranties for the equipment sold on eBay. Warranties are non-transferable; therefore, we do not honor any warranties offered by the seller. We do not authorize anyone to sell our equipment on eBay due to quality control issues.
